6 Passenger Vehicles: 3 Options to Choose From
In today’s society everything is about saving money, and going along with that is the concern that vehicles be more fuel efficient. In turn with being more fuel efficient, most of the time means being smaller, or less powerful. It is all well and good to save money and have a more fuel efficient vehicle, but when it comes to a large family, going smaller isn’t an option.
Don’t panic though, companies are still making vehicles to accommodate those families. So if your family is in demand for 6 passenger vehicles, as many large families are, it may pay to do some research before walking onto the lot to buy. I suggest starting your research with a few of the vehicles recommended here.
6 Passenger Vehicle Option 1
There are several vehicles hitting the markets recently that seat six passengers very comfortably, and are also designed to save on fuel as well. One being the new 2010 Mazda 5 that houses a 16 valve 4 cylinder engine under the hood which puts out 153 horse power.
It also gets up to 28 miles per gallon, and seems to very comfortably seat 6 with extra room for cargo as well. All that combined with a 5 star crash safety rating makes the Mazda 5 my number three pick for a 6 passenger vehicle.
This is a great vehicle for medium to large families that are on a tight budget. The small but power producing 4 cylinder would be all you need for around town and light pulling.
Vehicle Option 2
Another great vehicle rated for six plus passengers is the Honda Pilot. The third row seating that makes actually eight seats possible comes standard in all models of the Pilot. Also coming standard is their six cylinder engine which gets 21 miles to the gallon and has an impressive 250 horse power.
Honda focuses on safety in the Pilot as well including front and side curtain airbags for all three rows as well as child seat anchors in the third row. This great package of power and safety makes for an excellent large family vehicle and gets my number two pick for a six and up passenger vehicle.
Vehicle Option 3
The best vehicle I can at least suggest for you to research is the Toyota Highlander. Toyota has made many options available on this vehicle including paying about another seven thousand dollars and getting one of the most powerful hybrid engines available. A
lso the Highlander comes standard with two wheel drive but you have the option to upgrade to full time four wheel drive, or the electronic on demand four wheel drive with intelligence.
If you elect the hybrid as the engine you will be getting a 24 valve 6 cylinder engine producing about 208 horse power. This is pretty good considering it’s mostly coming from permanent magnet electric motors. It still has a 28 mpg fuel rating which isn’t much different than other 6 cylinder gas engines available. All together though this is a great pick for a 6 and up passenger vehicle.
There are still 6 passenger vehicles being designed and produced for those families in need. I always look forward to the new ideas that will revolutionize the multiple passenger vehicle just as we have done many times already.
It is a great time to be needing a family size vehicle with the conveniences and options available on them now. You know how important it is to find the right vehicle for your family. After all, today’s family spends a good bit of time in a vehicle, so make sure it’s a safe and enjoyable time.
